Before and After Pictures – After Four Years

These photos were taken four years after my Lifestyle Lift. I’m 61 years old at this point and I haven’t had any Lifestyle Lift touch-up procedures.  I have included pictures face front and also profile pictures. There are pictures with a open mouth smile and some with a closed mouth smile. There are also close up photos of the scarring along the front of my ears and also behind my ears.

Lifestyle Lift Scars – Pictures after 4 Years

You will see the scarring behind my ears looks as if the skin is bunched or gathered. The scarring in front of my ear is slightly noticeable even though I am wearing make-up. As the skin on my jaws has loosened since my surgery, the scars have pulled forward out of my ears slightly. If you compare these photographs with the before and after pictures in the other photo galleries, you will see that the positive effects of my surgery have diminished over time, just as Dr. Castellano advised me. That’s no surprise to me; I knew I would continue to age.

Eyelid Lift or Blepharoplasty Pictures

If you look at my eyes in these pictures, you will see that my eyelid lift surgery, blepharoplasty, has been more lasting. I am very pleased with my eye lids.

One month after my Lifestyle Lift I feel like I have recovered from the surgery and my life is returning to normal. I’m very happy and excited about my Lifestyle Lift results. I think I look younger and more attractive and I have more self confidence.

I think I was a little overly optimistic about how fast and painless my recovery would be. I knew it wouldn’t be a few days as some of the Lifestyle Lift promotional material implied, but I didn’t anticipate that it would take three weeks to return to some normalcy and be more or less pain free. I also didn’t anticipate the lingering pain. I know that different people respond differently and that all results aren’t the same, but I think my optimism may have set me up for some depression and moodiness. Support is important and you can find others who have gone through the Lifestyle Lift experience on forums and websites on the Internet.

When considering my recovery and results, it’s good to remember that I did have an upper eye lift (blepharoplasty) and liposuction in my jowls and neck at the same time I had my Lifestyle Lift.

This video is seventeen days into my recovery from Lifestyle Lift surgery. You’ll see that the incisions and scars from the surgery is healing. My remaining stitches, sutures, will dissolve on their own including some internal stitches that are not visible. This is the first day that I did not take medicine for pain, which had most recently been Ibuprofen.

The knot on my neck is becoming smaller, although I still have some tightness from the shrinking scar tissue. I also have not recovered full feeling around my ears. You will see that the incisions that Dr. Castellano made around my ear are not really visible as he actually made the incision inside my ear.

My eyes are now mostly healed from my eye lid lift or blepharoplasty. I’m wearing my normal eye makeup and I’m very happy with the results. Overall, I’m a happy camper and my life is beginning to return to normal.

A day can make a difference after your Lifestyle Lift, particularly with the help of a new hairstyle, some makeup and a new positive attitude.

This video is Saturday, December 17th after my Lifestyle Lift surgery almost two weeks earlier on Monday, December 4th. I think I was letting my frustration and some depression get the upper hand. I’m a positive person so it can happen. One thing that got me down was pain because I wasn’t doing a good job of pain management. I’m not a fan of medication and I was trying to stretch the interval to avoid some medication. Obviously that wasn’t working for me so I made a commitment to take my meds to feel better.  I decided that I would take my Ibuprofen every four hours.

This is the first video, the first day after my Lifestyle Lift, that I could feel the positive results from my Lifestyle Lift.

This video was taken 11 days after my Lifestyle Lift and eye lid lift surgery. I was having pain through my neck and jaws to behind my ears.  I was told by Dr. Castellano that scar tissue tightens. I was very tight and still had a loss of feeling and sensitivity around my ears. I still had knots behind my ears; it seemed like my face was much harder.

The fact that I was having pain after a week and a half was frustrating and caused me to be a little depressed. I still did not regret having the Lifestyle Lift because I was optimistic that the results would be worth the pain and frustration, but I was ready for the healing to move on. One way to brighten my outlook was to read the forums on the Internet. There were lots of potential problems as the result of any facelift surgery and mine seemed mild compared to some. I think I was mostly disappointed that I seemed to be having more pain than I was previously. I was not treating my pain with Ibuprofen instead of Tylenol.

On Monday after my Lifestyle Lift the one week previous, I am on my way to see Dr. Castellano to get my stitches removed both from the Lifestyle Lift and my eye lid lift. I’m still looking odd with lots of swelling and you can really see the swelling around the incisions on my eye lids.

This was a big step in my recovery from my Lifestyle Lift surgery. It was uplifting, at least mentally, that I was a concrete step closer to seeing the results I was looking for when I had the surgery.

This day seven video of my Lifestyle Lift recovery shows me with my first attempt at hair and makeup after my Lifestyle Lift surgery. Actually, I did not use makeup on my eyes, as I was still keeping Lacri-Lube Lubricant Eye Ointment on the sutures from my eyelid lift surgery, officially called a blepharoplasty in medical terminology.

As you can see in the video, I’m still not there yet. There is a lot of swelling, pulling and bruising, and I still have my sutures around my ears and on my eye lids. My face looks weird because of it. The dress-up effort was a dry run for getting to see Dr. Castellano, my surgeon, that following day for my one week checkup and to have my stitches removed. Hurrah!

I enjoyed a nice hot soaking bath on Saturday after my Lifestyle Lift surgery. I was having a lot of soreness in my neck, probably to some extent because I was favoring one side. At this point I still had very limited side-to-side movement in my neck and on occasion I would feel shooting pain which wouldn’t last long.

I found out I was taking too much Extra Strength Tylenol so I had to cut back on the Tylenol by four gel caps a day. I was excited about doing my hair and makeup and getting ready to have my stitches removed at one week, on the following Monday morning.

In this video you can watch as I remove my surgical wrap and bandages as I get ready for my shower on Friday afternoon, which was 96 hours past my Lifestyle Lift surgery and day five of my LL experience.  Although it was nice to remove the wrap and take my shower, I did find the wrap comforting at this point in my healing.

My neck is still tight and stiff and, as you can see, very bruised. I used Arnica Bruise Gel to help with the healing. At this point I was beginning to see an improvement in my eyes as they recovered from the eye lid lift or blepharoplasty as procedure is technically named. Dr. Castellano had advised me that keeping the sutures moist would help improve healing. I used Lacrilube for that purpose, but as always you should follow your surgeons instructions.

I was beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel with regard to my Lifestyle Lift healing on day four, but I was soon to learn there was still a long ways to go.

This video is taken three days or 72 hours after Dr. Castellano completed my Lifestyle Lift surgery as well as my Blepharoplasty or eyelid lift surgery.  You will see that I removed my wrap and bandages so you can see my progress and my incisions around my ears and under my chin for the liposuction.

I’m very bruised in my neck and even down into my shoulders at this point. I’m also very tight through my chin and neck. I’m treating my sutures with a mixture of peroxide and water and my bruising with Arnica bruise gel. Pain and discomfort is still a problem, and since I could not tolerate the Vicodin I am treating my pain with Extra Strength Tylenol.

At this point I am happy that I’m beginning to be able to open my mouth more which means I can enjoy a good meal again. I missed that. Overall I am happy with my progress and I’m very thankful that I have not had any complications.
